Liberty
Mutual: Project: "The N'Done
Twins" Agency: Liberty Mutual Running Time: 6 minutes 40 seconds
Overview: When Liberty Mutual wanted an innovative training tool,
Hatchling introduced them to the N'Done twins. The robotic siblings take very
different approaches to production, illustrating the do's and don'ts of time
management through their (mis)adventures. Liberty debuted the animation
internally at a Quality Assurance seminar to reinforce their key ideas in a new
and creative way.
Creative: The simple, elegant render style coupled
with the quick, cartoon-ish movements help make The N'Done Twins feel like
entertainment than a corporate training video. But subtle details, like color
shifts and musical foreshadowing, help drive the message of proper process
home.
Technical: In order to meet Liberty's high expectations for
quality while sticking to a tight schedule and budget, Hatchling took some
creative license. For example, all of the robots move on wheels or treads
rather than legs to save animators the task of making them walk. The line
rendering style also helped reduce render time.
